Sulaiman Al-Rajhi wins the International Islamic Economy Prize in Dubai

The Islamic Economy Prize in Dubai announced that Sheikh Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi won the “Lifetime Achievement” category for the year 2016, due to the great role he played in developing and serving the global Islamic economy. A ceremony was held in Dubai yesterday evening and under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Suleiman Al-Rajhi is considered one of the most famous businessmen and philanthropists in the Kingdom. He established many companies that contributed to agricultural, food, industrial and educational development in the Kingdom and abroad, and which moved under the umbrella of his endowments. Approximately two-thirds of his wealth (the state of his life) was due to his endowments that he had previously established as a contribution to the development of society. He also established for these endowments a deed and a system for their management and governance according to modern standards. Among his contributions to the development of the Islamic economy is that he is a founding partner of Al-Rajhi Bank, which is considered the first Islamic bank in the Kingdom and one of the largest Islamic banks in the world.
